Abstract
Poster presenting a method to quantify walking resilience from the temporal evolution of the center-of-mass velocity trajectory following a treadmill-induced trip perturbation, and its use to test whether different auditory metronome conditions (pink noise, white noise, periodic, no noise) modulate the speed of recovery. Thirty-three participants walked on a split-belt treadmill while a momentary belt-blocking perturbation was applied; the pink-noise metronome condition produced the fastest recovery, consistent with the idea that the temporal structure of natural gait reflects pink-noise-like statistical properties.
